I’d actually prefer that over any other position

y’all have a dedicated mobile bar?
awesomechief989 6 points 1y ago
Some stores have CBS and hot bar but some stores, like my current, have drive and cafe/mobile bars aka printers really

Our mobile bar serves two channels simultaneously- MOP and cafe. So if you are on mobile bar at my store, you are there because you can handle it.

I'm always put on cafe/mobile when I bar, because they know that I can't handle the demands of drive bar. It's fine. Don't sweat it.

my store has dt bar, mobile bar/cafe bar on the same printer and a seperate cold bar printer but cold bar drinks come out of the dt printer too. i hate being on dt bar because then dt times are my responsibility

I always look at it as someone who can handle bar and greeting customers consistently. Definitely not a bad thing.

No it’s not bad, at least from an SSV point of view. At my old store mobile/cafe bar was 100% the most difficult bar position so I would only put my strongest bar partners there, so it means you must be doing something right! However, if you hate that position then yeah it kinda sucks to always be there. If you’re getting too exhausted, try asking for a break. Thats a tough position to do constantly

No? No job is inherently bad, there is just a preference.

We split café to drive thru printer instead of mobile because we get 75% mobile orders. Mobile bar is stressful and you still have to connect but I’d rather do that than anything else. Especially DTO. Omg.

Yes.

hard disagree. some stores have really high mobile volume, especially during peak. they’re asking you to juggle DT mobile, cafe mobile, and plain cafes in a timely way. i see it as a showing of trust to be put on mobile bar

Always, though? I'm the current "always mobile" person at my store, and I'm getting burned out. Why can't the others be expected to keep up with me? We're all getting paid the same. And I'm not talking just peak times, that's understandable, I'm a rockstar, whatever, but when I have been planted at the busiest, most overwhelming station for five hours every shift for the last two weeks, that's not good for morale. For anyone. That is why shift leads are supposed to rotate partners.
