Today just sucked (self.starbucksbaristas)

We had someone call out because they've been sick all week, got covid tested, and hasn't gotten the results yet. So we knew we'd be down one person. Then one of the openers didn't call or show, so the shift was trying to figure out where they were. This was like 4:30 mind you. Around 8am another shift texted and said, yeah, they told our store manager that they'd be out today because they were exposed and having covid symptoms. But the opening manager wasn't told this at all.

So one person got there before I did, so at 7:30am we had four people on a Saturday. And only had four (not counting the green bean who is still in training) until 9amish when the sm came in. Then one of our weekday people came in when they don't work weekends because one of the openers had to go home. (They had surgery on their hand and couldn't take pain medicine. They used their hand too much and it was hurting bad)

Mobiles weren't turned off until around 8:30am and we were getting slammed with them. Then when we finally had a food, front, two bar, do, and dtr person, then opening shift decided to disappear and put the order away while Cafe and drive thru were slammed. (Green bean was on window and couldn't do front or dto because they hadn't been trained on register yet. This is literally their third day training)

I'm glad to be home and hate that this has been a pattern for this week where we are missing so many people when our coverage is already spotty during morning time.
