So I had something that happened today that I was just really surprised over and it just made me think. I was on front register today, and we were swamped. Multiple orders, ranging from 10-50 dollars each. Rarely a tip. Never exceeding 50 cents. But when we had a slow period, an elderly homeless man walked in, and asked for an ice water, and cup of ice. As I told him I'd go grab it, he said "oh wait you need a tip" and dug around his pockets to find a dollar and put it into the tip jar. I tried to tell him he didn't have to, but he insisted. This man who already had very little, and just wanted some water, tipped more than people who order 10 drinks and food items. Idk if I'm overreacting, but it just got to me. Do y'all have any similar stories? I'd love to here them!
