Newest pay raises for tenured partners(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Brilliant_Story609
I just wanted to pick y’all’s brains a bit. I have been with the Siren for 15 consecutive years and for the last 7 or more I have been capped out on pay thus receiving a bonus on my last paycheck every year. Well it looks like they have raised the cap and I will be getting a $.78 raise in October. This feels kind of garbagey to me as I am now only making $1.78 more per hour, after 15 years of service, than a greenbean hired yesterday. I don’t know if I’m being petty but I feel that those of us who were capped out before should have been raised up to the new cap. Does anyone else feel like us older partners (I’m a 106) are getting screwed over?
I’m being told that I will no longer get the bonus :(

i don’t think you’re being petty at all, it’s absolutely horrific corporate treats you and all other long term employees like this. it’s time for us to speak out more like this about these workplace injustices, i recommend you check out the union thats being formed in Buffalo as they discuss this kind of thing

While that is a worthy endeavor, alas, I am in Texas…

They’ve always kept me just under cap so I feel you on this. They just promoted 3 people to lead and I’m making literally like .15 more than them. I’ve gotten extra lazy since then but still manage to get all my stuff done? 147 here

That's crazy and worth quitting over imo. Not saying you should quit, but you deserve so much more. 6 year partner here and I hate that I've seen drinks more expensive than my hourly wage. I'm sticking it out until the raise because I'm already taking several weeks off in September, but if my raise sucks, I'm leaving.

I won’t quit for a bunch of reasons namely I love my job. It just hurts my feelings more than anything. In total I’ve given 2 decades of my life to the Siren and feel like I’m worth a little more consideration, that’s all….

That's one of the reasons I left. At the peak I was making about $2.50 more then a green bean. I transferred to another city and my DM tried to offer me a 1.35 raise to stay but it was too little too late. I transferred and my wage dropped .40 cents because of cost of living differences in the new city and that happen to coincide with the new pay raise structure of only one raise a year instead of the two.
I happen to live in a high minimum wage state so as the yearly minimum went up, the new hires were getting .50 raises to bring them up but the tenured partners were only getting the standard raises which for me was only like .23 cents. As you can imagine they caught up to me pretty quickly. I left as a 9 year partner who was being paid at the time I quit only .16 cents more then a brand new partner.

Hi there! I’m also a tenure partner - 225****. Found out I’ll be making .23 cents more than starting pay. I find it garbage tbh. I’m only working part-time as a college student to pay for gas and food, but I think we deserve more. At least a 50-75 cents extra for every year you spend with the company. Ideally I would like a dollar for each year completed, considering the company makes billions but hey, I’m just a barista - what do I know 🤡
