hiiii i just got hired on as a shift. my store currently has our manager & one other ssv & that’s it?? i was a sup/shift manager at a small coffee shop for a year but it was small & i left 8 months ago. i had my first day of training today i guess i’m just looking for reassurance that i’ll be okay lol. also is there anything i need to know going in to this? literally anything at all, any stories you’ve heard that are similar to mine? TIA!

This is me in a nutshell. All I can say is you will definitely get better. And you'll also be tired as f. But you'll get used to it after a month of doing the same thing over and over. Just don't forget the deposit slip before you seal the bag lol! Or the keys in the safe :[

This was me a couple months ago, I got promoted to shift right at 6 months of working here. The biggest thing is to work on time management, your shifts are going to run long at first but the only thing you can do is work on it. You’ll forget things at first but if you keep going it gets better. If you remember the stress of when you first started as a barista, it is very similar to the stress of starting as a SSV, just give it time and practice and it’ll get all better. I believe in you!
