Barista Trainers (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by mechagothicsalmon
Hi there! 320xxxxx here and I’ve been working at the bucks for a little over 2 months. I’ve worked in food service before and most of my shift supervisors have told me that I’ve caught on really quickly. My times are in the low 40’s during peak - I was just wondering what the usual time line to become a barista trainer is. Have I been here long enough? Am I rushing into this? Is it worth being a barista trainer? Some of the newer green beans even ask me for help on things - so I’m wondering at what point should I do this? I do have ambitions to become a shift supervisor, what is the best way for me to go about doing this?

285 here, I was asked to be a barista trainer after only 3 months!

Though I never actually got to do the training to be one till this month, more than a year after the fact because my manager kept forgetting. :')))))

Perks:

* you get a bonus when you train a newbie and they stick around! (Shouldn't be the main reason you become a trainer, but hey extra money is NICE)

* You get to be the first contact for a new barista, you'll get the chance to teach them how to be a great partner.

* If you do want to be a shift, being a trainer first is helpful, shows that you're good in a leadership position. :)

Edit: formating, mobile sucks lmao
