Not me being the person she spoke to… she came through the drive thru when it was busy and I just didn’t have the answers 😭 (i.redd.it)

who in their right mind would go through the drive thru to apply for a job ?!?!? that sounds like a terrible idea lmao
spensyr [OP] 96 points 1y ago
Yeah, that’s what we said too; if you’re really serious about it, you’d go into the store and ask for the manager, not the random barista at the window. She even asked if we were actually hiring and I told her absolutely. Oh well.

Tbh not the type of person I’d pick to employ 😬 if they can’t go inside the store, or look *online*
deeciphered 6 points 1y ago
They always ask me at window I'm like idk probably. Ask my manager not me. I have no authority here. Just because I think we are doesn't mean we are for sure.

Lol also not a great idea to leave a negative review at a place you’re trying to apply to
Realistic-Action939 72 points 1y ago
Lmao this happened at my old store! But the girl had been working with us for a while before we noticed she had posted a review about our slow service - before she worked there 😂
crunchycookie28 10 points 1y ago
omg was it a bad review
Realistic-Action939 22 points 1y ago
She just basically just bitching that we needed to get more employees or pick up the pace because her mobile order wouldn’t be ready when she was there to pick it up

I’m sure once she started working there she realized that we were a busy drive thru store lol
aisecherry 55 points 1y ago
if she was asking about a job in the literal drive thru shes a frickin moron and would have gotten this reaction anywhere. the person working window at ANY drive thru is obviously not going to be the person you should talk to about a job lmao take your lazy ass inside the store and ask--ideally when its not busy! I pity the fool

We get so many people calling to see if we’re hiring, it’s always funny to me because it’s fast food- it’s always hiring. If you have open availability, you will get hired. Especially right now. Just google “Starbucks jobs,” I am not an IT person and it isn’t my job to walk you through how to apply over the phone 3 minutes before we close :)
goldqueen287 2 points 1y ago
Ik it’s wrong of them but if you look up Starbucks application tips on YouTube they all tell you to call the damn store. These poor people are led to believe they need to call to have a chance
Pugpoots 22 points 1y ago
what a fuckin moron
Magnhild94 12 points 1y ago
I mean - how is the reflective of the business for a customer though?
OMGitsJewelz 8 points 1y ago
Just tell them to go to starbucks.com/careers

Shes dumb for asking 1)in DT 2)when it's busy and 3) leaving a bad review... Like really? You're not gonna get hired at any Starbucks 🙄
spensyr [OP] 4 points 1y ago
Yeah that’s what I told her. She said it wasn’t loading properly or something and I was just like…okay? What’s that got to do with me? I dont control that.
kIose 6 points 1y ago
"OK open Google and give me your phone"

*types in Starbuck jobs*

"There ya go"
philosopher_cat_lady 4 points 1y ago
Maybe the reason we don't have the time to talk to you is we're extremely understaffed
CalDoesMaths 3 points 1y ago
Lmao reminds me of the girl who tried to hand us a resume through the window 😂
eeeeeeeeeveeeeeeeee 1 points 1y ago
N-no? This isn’t the 60s? The fuck am I supposed to do with this?
drinkliquidclocks 1 points 1y ago
It's the 21st century just Google it lady 😭 hope reviews make me fucking angry lmaoo... People give my store 1 star reviews because we didn't have the item they want
Ifyouoralovedonehav3 1 points 1y ago
I always gave them the “applications online and I’m not really the hiring manager tehehe haha 😬”
