Considering quitting. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by BabySteele
Ive never just quit without more than 2 weeks notice, but I'm just so exhausted and feel so depressed that I'm tempted to call my manager in the morning just to tell her I quit right before my 10 hour shift. Im feeling so unappreciated and pushed aside.

Update: a friend of mine convinced me not to quit without notice, to simply call out today, and come over to do job applications at their place while they give me hugs n food.

10hr shift? That already tells me you guys are understaffed. That's way too much. Do what's best for you. I quit 4 weeks ago. Best decision ever. I mean yeah currently I am job hunting and don't have income but my application game got so good that I am negotiating salaries in the 6 figures range, so yeah, f\*ck Sbux, they don't do shit for their employees and health insurance/benefits can't compensate for the mental/physical exhaustion.

May be a dumb question. Was it starbucks that bossed your application or is it mostly other work experience and schooling? If sbux is a leg up enough to negotiate pay, maybe I'll quit

No, not a dumb question. I’m a biologist by training and did SBux as a transition, so my background is different and I never intended it to be part of my resume.

However that being said — irrespective of SBux or not, I’d be always more than happy to help re-vamping resumes since I kinda got the gist how to transform some boring ass barista/SSV work experience into sth that sounds like you’re Superman 😂

Lol use them i quit best thing ever. Now better job

Seriously. I mean, yes, I am thankful for SBux and their Lyra service. But to compensate for anxiety? Stress? Or people collapsing and crying? Nah uh.

And I mean it seriously. If someone ever wants and needs help with their resume, I WILL HELP YOU. I am currently job hunting and my resumes always go past the ATS system, plus past the HR, I always land an interview round 1. I literally got an interview scheduled for tomorrow from a company for a f\*cking director of a science dept role lol, that's way higher than I expected, shot my shot with a sloppy ass cover letter, so I am sure it was the resume's work

Do it! Or at the very least tell your manager how exhausted you are and need a mental health day. Then if you feel the same after some rest.. quit.

10 hour shift? Do you want shifts that long? It’s a physically demanding job, maybe shorter shifts would help
