How to use Starbucks discount (self.starbucksbaristas)

This question is about the Starbucks discount at other retail stores not Starbucks. Do I just tell the store cashier my partner number or do I have them scan my partner Starbucks card?

It's mostly online-only through Perks at Work: $1
The only other place I know of is Sketchers, which has their own site where you can buy shoes online or print out a flyer to show in a Sketchers corporate store. https://www.skechers.com/direct/starbucks
