Why I am quitting (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Mat_The_Bstone
Has anyone else noticed East Coast Starbucks suck compared to the West Coast? I moved from California to Massachusetts because of the pandemic, and had to take a step down from supervisor to barista. I dont know if it's my store specifically, but I've heard other stores in the area are similar. It seems like the supervisors and managers just don't care. I'm constantly find milk past the sell by date, expired sauces, inclusions, syrups. And when I bring up these issues, they don't get fixed, and the management just complains the baristas aren't doing their job right. One time I even brought up a supervisor that was keeping pastries for an extra day because they "will sell in the morning" and was told that all the supervisors at that store do it, and they only donate food if they have had to "roll it over already the day before." As a former supervisor I am disgusted and refuse to eat or drink from my store if I'm not the one to make it. If my former store manager found out someone was repeatedly doing half of this they would be fired. It is just sickening that they care so little about their customers they are willing to serve expired food and drinks all day. Because of these reasons and more I am giving my notice on Friday, hopefully if I am back on the west coast I'll give Starbucks a try, but until then I will make coffee at home. So long Starbucks, and thanks for nothing. 27XXXXX signing off

I don’t think it is a coast thing I just think it is a store thing.
I had an amazing store in the south, new manager ruined it pretty quickly. I left and eventually started again at a new store in the Midwest. It was trash from the very first day. I lasted a month there.

I think it’s a Mass thing. You’re in Dunkin territory…

Sadly I think many Starbucks are getting this way.

I moved from SoCal Starbucks to Southern Utah Starbucks & I'm about to put in my 2 weeks. It's just a different attitude here that's not worth it.
