to properly call out you need to 1) text/call every partner you can to ask for coverage and 2) call the store ASAP and tell the keyholder on duty that you can’t come in because X and that you’re looking for/found/didn’t find coverage. if you’re the only night shift and have no immediate options, your SM needs to contact other partners within the district. if your SM doesn’t respond to your text/call about covid coach quickly, reach out to another SM in your district and explain the situation. make sure to document in the DRB your temp and what covid coach said, as well as any directions you receive from a manager. you should not get in any sort of trouble for following company policy and following covid coach guidance- if your current SM makes it an issue (you’re sick during a pandemic- it’s important to play it safe!) you need to call ethics/compliance or reach out to your DM if you feel comfortable doing so. there is also an anti-retaliation policy, so you can also report any changes in his behavior towards you.

a little more background****
to just "stay in the back" is far from an option in my store. we have been understaffed in addition to having an increase in sales during nights. we have been getting out later and later because we are all required to be on the floor the whole shift, thus not completely any cleaning and me not doing shift tasks till 8pm. staying in the back has never been an option, but it's almost a laughable idea at this point now.
