Should I contact pcc about a possible health hazard? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Sometimes I pick up shifts at a Starbucks much closer to my apartment than my store. Ever since June they've had a *terrible* drain flies infestation and/ or fruit flies everywhere. I have never seen anyone clean the drains properly, just spray them with bleach sometimes and each night pack them with ice. The real thing that makes me disgusted though, is that every time I make a refresher, a cloud of the fruit flies erupts from the dried fruit. It's horrible and I don't want to serve it to anyone. I asked a shift what they do, like if they at least throw the fruit out after they see this, but he said they just cover it in Saran wrap, even leaving it overnight until it technically expires!!! Even though there are so many flies!!! They're transitioning to a new SM now and they're so severely understaffed that I get that store cleanliness might not be on the top of anyone list but.... I feel like it's literally morally wrong to serve buggy refreshers... Idk. Thank you for reading

Wait they pack the drains with ice?

Yeah, the sinks too. Apparently it helps with the flies?

If anything it’s helping them spawn by creating a moist environment.

Yea I was thinking the same thing. I know at my store we breakdown the tea station every night, Saran Wrap the inclusions as well as the vanilla bean, matcha, and Java chips. I have worked at my store for 3 years and this year was the first year we did not have any files( we did have a big bee problem tho) you should check to see if there are any holes in the foundation, if there are any holes or cracks in the store where water runs that might be the reason. That’s what happened at my store.

Have you talked to the DM? I would text them (written conversations are great for keeping exactly what was said clear if it goes poorly for you for some reason)

They just hired a new DM and I haven't met them, but that's a good idea
