Hey y’all i need some advice :)) (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Short-Speech-5397
I’ve only been with starbucks for a few weeks and I have the drinks down and know how to do everything but I can’t find the right way to sequence it and do it quickly. My store is a drive thru location and it’s constantly busy so I spend most of my time on dto/dtr, but I really enjoy bar a lot more so I was wondering if anyone has advice on how to get quicker and more efficient so I can be on bar without slowing down drive thru times and mess up the flow.

Start slowly: work on two drinks at a time. Try your best to always have your machine doing something (be it warming, an espresso machine, or a blender).

for hot drinks, the key to sequencing is doing the first steps while the machine does the other work for u. if you're making a pumpkin spice latte, while your milk is steaming, get your next latte up and ready, syrup pumped, milk poured, shots queued. with fraps, i dont normally sequence, but in order to sequence you have to get all your ingredients together while your first frap is blending! i dont think there's any way to sequence shaken bevs but i could be wrong

There is!! Put everything into the first shaker, then the second, then finish the first drink and continue like that.

My trainer like wrote down the shots and pumps that go into every type of drink and then he like asked me questions about it because that’s how I learn best. There are also a lot of really good charts you can find here on reddit. I also looked at the recipes on a starbucks device and just scrolled through. I think the biggest help was just actually making them and my trainer would tell me when I was done i’d I was right or not. Over all confidence is key and the more you look it over and make them it starts to make sense. Honestly just ask questions most importantly, even if you think it’s “stupid” it helps make it so you can boost that confidence in making the drinks. (also a lot of things follow the same progressions so look for the paterns) Now that I’m done with training and I asked everything and I’m confident in knowing how to make them it’s made it a lot easier, I just have to figure out how to do it quicker haha.
