How should I go about prepping to work at becoming a shift lead before applying?(self.starbucksbaristas)

Are there any lists of things I should know and all that? I don't want to talk to my SM and be missing some core skills or knowledge.

I recommend asking one of your supervisors or SM for a copy of the Ops Excellence guide. It has all the responsibilities and material needed for each position from barista all the way through regional director. There are even a couple pages on how to best go from being a barista to Shift Supervisor (SSV). It's also available digitally on the partner hub.

I tried to access the Ops Excellence Guide on the partner hub and it just redirects me back to the partner hub, is this something that can only be accessed on company devices?

Thank you, I'll ask and check it out.

There is also a whole page filled with “Steps to Excellence” on the partner hub. My SM always schedules the first day of training for a new SSV for this alone. They literally read through every SSV & SM approach to learn about what they do & how it affects baristas & anyone higher up. I was an outside hire w no prior management experience & I found it to be really helpful
