Do you think wildly customized drinks would be fun to make if time wasn’t an issue? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Pointless theoretical question

Yes. When we're slow and someone has a crazy concoction, I love making it.

What is this "when we're slow" you speak of?

Lol

Honestly, I stopped worrying about time partway into my job. I’m just a part in the starbucks drink conveyor belt. If the order takes a while because of complexity or errors in how starbucks is staffed/deployed, it’s not my fault.

Also, no, even with this mindset, I don’t really like scrutinizing at a paragraph of ingredients regardless of time.

Same. All of the above.

No, they're still such a gamble. The customer has an idea in their heads of what they are going to get that too often has very little to do with what they actually order. And having to read through a long list over and over to avoid missing something is just tedious.

Every so often I get an intricate order that seems logical and fun to make but mostly it's just ingredient mad libs.

No. Never. Absolutely not

it depends. sometimes the customizations customers order don’t make sense or it makes the drink REALLY weird looking (visually and texturally). plus some customers might already have an idea of what it’s supposed to be in their heads (which is sometimes not realistic) and complain bc they want it that way but they have no idea of the process to get there.

Absolutely. I also like the one about the girl with the glass slipper, or the one where the mermaid becomes human.

Tbh the more customizations, the more chances for the customer to screw up on their end ordering, and me on my end making it. And one little thing can result in the whole drink needing to be remade.

No

I think so. I feel like we’re all so pressured to keep times down so it would be Cool to not get annoyed at peoples crazy drinks. I’m from a drive thru and cafe store so there’s a lot of people to serve in a short amount of time and with the staffing issues I usually have to solo bar.

Yes because then we wouldn’t be yelled at for trying to make something right
