First time training, any advice? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by strawberryjamsesh
As the title says, I’m officially training my first green bean ever tomorrow and I’m a little nervous! I’ve read the training guide for customer support (we’re doing that position first), and will read more as we go, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips? Should I stay with them while they do the computer training or be on the floor(I’m assuming stay on the floor)? Do you guys have fun/easy ways to remember things?

I’m super excited, and I’m generally a pretty patient person, so I’m hoping I’ll be a good teacher.

Thank you!

My trainer went on the floor while I did the computer modules! And she also wrote out the basic recipes (like shots, milk, syrup, etc) on each sized cup so it was easier for me to learn like how many shots go into a grande hot macchiato compared to an americano etc idk if I explained that well enough, I can post a photo of her cups if that helps. It was really helpful though, because then I just brought the eight cups home and was able to study. I feel like it definitely helped me prepare for bar
