on dtr today, I made conversation by asking how people’s labor day was going. one person asked how mine was going and without thinking I said “oh, it’s going alright. just, ya know, laboring”

Yes but it’s ironic that the one day chosen for the lowly worker has become still another vacation day for the elite…. Been with the bux 10 years now but I used to work at a local coffee shop that had 45min. Paid lunches health care and paid national holidays …. Profit sharing and paid sick and vacation…. I had to move out of state but if I’d still lived there I would never have left

my store was understaffed and of course out of everything …
trenta cups AND lids,
venti ice cups,
low on stock on grande ice cups,
white mocha,
oatmilk,
low on almond milk,
no lemonade,
no matcha,
no mdf base,
low on strawberry pieces,
aaaaaaaaaaaaand just about every breakfast sandwich but the ds bacon and when i left there was one singular (1) spin fetty wrap and one (1) bacon gouda 🥲
we’re also between store managers rn and don’t even really have a manager and schedules keep being messed up so we literally are just winging everything, trying not to break down and have a group crying session in the back
we also don’t get truck until wednesday and i work at 5am tomorrow by myself (most likely) bcus someone called out sick today and might tomorrow too 🥲

I hope you’re not serious about the working alone. Please don’t do that. There has to be at least two people in the store at all times. Your safety is far more important than this dumbass job.

I should’ve clarified more. When I said I’d be by myself, I meant by myself PLUS my shift. I only counted myself because they have their own job tasks/responsibilities throughout the shift, so I’d be doing a lot alone.

Also you could get fired without hesitation for going in alone. Never enter the store alone. And if no one arrives in an hour message whom ever is overseeing your store and let em know you are going back home. Don’t stress yourself out.

I know this is an old post but my store was absolutely nuts today. Like all of the other stores in the area were closed due to them having COVID cases but omg it was nightmareishly busy.
