Sooo I’m a fairly new trainer, with only a handful of green beans under my wing. Recently I’ve had a really difficult time getting through my trainings because of being short staffed, trainings being reduced to three days and simultaneously being on the floor and training. I really want to prepare my trainees before they’re thrown on the floor but it with all that’s going on with Starbucks atm I feel like I’m kinda failing at it. Do y’all have any tips on what I should specifically focus on? Or anything you wish you would’ve been taught while training?

Use whatever weakness you’ve seen as your training. Be honest with your green bean, short staffing is somewhat common occurrence at Starbucks.
Main thing you wanna focus on is drive thru (if you have it) since every new bean is at that hellhole post for the first month or two.
The next important one is bar (hot & cold) which is perfect because you & your green bean can kick off whoever is on bar & handle that station together. Give the green bean a true experience on what they got in to applying for Starbucks. Make sure to have them execute the drink correctly not half-assed
Now CS role training is interesting because I’ve heard most trainers teach that one differently but it’s very easy & can be hard since they don’t know where everything is quite yet. Not going to lie it’s funny to see them stressed out looking for something that’s right in their faces. Love that part of training lol.
But ultimately if you feel you’re training green beans right & accurate then you have nothing to worry about. How I taught myself to be patient & not show frustration is remembering that everyone isn’t built for Starbucks life.
