Black Apron: Name Embroidery+etc (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hi folks. I have a black apron that I'd like to get my name embroidered on. One of my coworkers said he's able to do heat transfer vinyl onto it, and says it stays on his aprons, but I want your opinions.
Should I try and find someone who can embroider my name (needle+thread) or should I go with my good-at-art coworker who does the heat transfer vinyl stuff all the time? Give me any thoughts you have!
Also, it's my only black apron, so I'd be sad if it didn't last forever.

I would say get it embroidered. heat transfer vinyl can end up cracking a bit after a while. just to be safe, i think getting your name embroidered looks better and is a better option. (:

Embroidered. Maybe use a nickname that's appropriate! That's what my partners did lol

I asked about other ways of putting names on aprons, and was told that embroidery is the only method allowed! I wanted to sew on a patch, but they shot me down! I would double check, though, maybe whoever told me is wrong!
