Casi is freaking delicious, plus the bag is really cute (not that that’s as important as the taste, but if it’s for a gift having a cute bag is a plus in my opinion).

Since Casi Cielo is out now, that is the best option, but I also really like Yukon in a French press.
hecaete4728 points1y ago
Casi Ciello is a limited edition blend for the fall and its amazing. Hands-down. No competition.
Kyde_Drakes18 points1y ago
Casi Ciello, and I also like the Sirens Blend.
medusas-garden16 points1y ago
As others have said, casi ciello is the best one we have right now. I really like veranda too. I’ve heard Verona is a good dark roast.
olivinemultichrome6 points1y ago
Verona is amazing as a cold brew or as espresso. So chocolatey.
bmyoung1511 points1y ago
I personally really like Espresso Roast as a drip coffee, but Verona is my go-to when I prepare tastings.
kazz_sky7 points1y ago
awesome! i havent tried the espresso roast yet.
Bwaybelter8 points1y ago
Komodo Dragon is awesome in the press if you want a dark roast. If not, cielo all the way
BaristaWoosa1 points1y ago
That’s my favorite behind casi!! I was asked to prepare a tasting for a managers meeting a couple years back and featured Komodo

Guatemala Antigua forevermore If not, Verona is a good pickup up for anyone wanting to get into dark roast since it's pretty versatile and goes with anything sweet. I only ever brew it french press
ElijahLordoftheWoods5 points1y ago
We’d have to have Guatemala in stock :( we’ve gotten a single case in the last like 3 months. It’s my fave core coffee and it makes me sad. At least rn I can get Casi Ciello.
ShutMyWh0reM0uth2 points1y ago
This. Grown between three volcanoes in the Antigua region of Guatemala. Pairs nicely with chocolate.
pixieuppercut6 points1y ago
Sumatra is my go to for everything. Yukon Blend also makes good pour overs and I’m sad no one really buys it. It needs more love.
marklandia4 points1y ago
Casi Cielo if you can find it. You can always call stores ahead of time and ask them to put some aside for you. Buy two so you can have one yourself. Outside that I recommend Organic Yukon. I like it because it's not super dark roasted, it tastes yummy black or with fixins, and it has an awesome bear on the label. It's also the only certified organic coffee Starbucks sells. All Starbucks coffee is ethically sourced, but still.
clumsysilencee3 points1y ago
Casi Cielo for sure! I could drink that stuff black.
croissantboyy3 points1y ago
casi cielo casi cielo casi cielo CASI CIELOOOOO. as a barista who isn't too much of a fan of coffee if i ever do drink coffee my go to is always ALWAYS casi cielo (or the Bolivia blend which i've gotten at the starbucks roastery in nyc and at reserve stores when they've had it it's so yummy) and i heavily prefer using the french press method of brewing over any other type. my best friend drinks coffee every day and i've gotten her hooked on casi cielo. she uses the french press to make a cold brew out of it and again it's amazing. i usually stock up on a couple bags for her and myself for when it's out of season. so that being said. go get that beautiful little green bag of glory, i promise you they'll love it.
ElijahLordoftheWoods3 points1y ago
As others have said, Casi Ciello is your best bet in stores rn. If you have a store that sells Reserve beans and you want to spend a bit more, every reserve coffee I’ve ever tried has been great. Not sure what’s in stores rn tho as my store doesn’t carry reserve beans.
nerdyoats3 points1y ago
Right now i believe it is the Hawaii Ka'u (most popular at my store), the Vietnam de Lat, and the Costa Rica Naranjo. Or at least that's what we have at my store at the moment (as of 9/7/21). The Hawaii may actually be just left over from last season though. In which case there would be another third one but i don't know what it would be off the top of my head. Maybe Kenya Kangunu or Rwanda?
ElijahLordoftheWoods3 points1y ago
Those are the same 3 that the store near me that does have reserve had when I was there a few weeks ago. I contemplated getting Ka’u but it’s like $36 retail for that 8.8 oz bag. I just moved so I don’t have that kind of bean money when I have plenty of Casi Ciello to mark out lol.
nerdyoats4 points1y ago
That's fair! Casi Ciello is definitely top tier. I don't even like darker roasts (even though it's *technically* a medium, it's a dark roast) and that one is on my top five. Veranda is good too! Comes out much nicer on a french press or pour over.
croissantboyy2 points1y ago
vietnam is also top tier. i know a reserve store near me had the bolivia blend (also incredible) in the last month too
nerdyoats3 points1y ago
Oh the Bolivia is great! I'm definitely partial to the Papa New Guinea though. Every time we've gotten it in it's been a good batch, without fail.
croissantboyy3 points1y ago
i remember one year we have a blonde papa new guinea and it was soooo much better than veranda and christmas blonde
The_walking_man_3 points1y ago
Verona is awesome on french press and really brings out the chocolate notes. Also Guatemala Antigua and Casi Cielo are good ones as well for french press.
PumpKiing2 points1y ago
Echoing everyone saying Casi Ciello, casi is great
If that's not available, Guatemala Antigua is my other fave!
stratamaniac2 points1y ago
Beans matter less than the grinder. Get a conical grinder. Any beans will taste great.
saddestgirl19952 points1y ago
True north/veranda 4 Lyfe. The tasting notes come thru more so in a FP or PO as opposed to brewing it with a coffee machine. This coffee and something chocolaty is sooooooo good
kazz_sky1 points1y ago
thanks everyone for the recommendations! i’ll get casi, due to popular demand 😊
Mayachees1 points1y ago
I am not a medium roast person. I prefer dark roasts. My favorite is Italian and then Komodo.
