We do tips Mondays. There used to be reasons they should be done on Tuesdays, but with digital tips going onto paychecks now, there's no reason they can't be done Mondays after payroll is complete. If we were to wait til Wednesday, people at my store would revolt.

If your schedule doesn't allow people to get their tips promptly, someone else should be trained to do them. You should have multiple people who can do them anyway, in case you get sick or take a vacation.

Tippy Tuesday!! As mentioned, it’s for payroll and such, but the time of day doesn’t matter! Maybe you can work with your SM and do them before or after class? Or just have someone else do them?

Ours is Tuesday as well! The sm has to process payroll for the week on Monday, so when we get the tip report it accurately accounts for all the tippable hours everyone worked. It allows for missed punches or anything in the book to be counted with the rest of your hours for the week :) I think everyone is supposed to do it on Tuesday 🤷🏻‍♀️

we do ours on tuesdays. but you can ask your manager (esp if you’re not available on whatever specified day you have assigned for tips) and they should accommodate.

Part of the reason Tuesday is the designated day at most stores is to accommodate bank holidays falling on a Monday, as I've had it explained.

We do it on tuesdays because payroll finalizes by 2pm on Monday. Since we no longer have a consistent person doing tips though, I have done it on Monday afternoons before and this week I’ll be doing them tomorrow since I have class on Tuesdays and there’s no one else to do them. There isn’t anything in the system that bars you from doing it a different day. Your shift/manager just needs to be careful to select the right days when they’re printing out the tip distribution for you. I’ve done two weeks of tips in one go before since we didn’t get to them the previous week, I just had to keep everything separated.

Tips can be done no earlier than Tuesday according to the Partner Resources Manual

We do ours Tuesday. Not sure why.

Your manager is lying and probably just doesn’t want to deal with people complaining about the day changing. It can be done whenever.
