Here’s my thing, I love my store. It’s the perfect fit for me but I am also a student and have a second income at home. Know what your needs are and go from there. It can seem stressful but it might be the right fit for you, you never know unless you try.

Tbh don't just listen the the other guy. The reddit really scared me at first bc everyone seemed so mad and stressed and it seemed horrible, but the starbucks reddits are really mainly a place to vent about all the terrible things. People don't typically find the usual good days post worthy, you simply enjoy those.
My first day is tomorrow so maybe I'm full of shit but every store is different and so far throughout my orientation and meeting other partners, everyone has been so incredibly sweet and the atmosphere at my stores seem very positive. I'd say your best bet on gaging what it's like is to go up to your starbucks and just sit for maybe an hour, observe the environment, see how the employees interact with each other and how customers interact with them. That'll give you a good idea.

i’m still pretty new (about a month and a half). the only real complaint i’ve had is it all just seems super fast. i’ve never worked in a drive through store before so that was hardest for me. but i love it otherwise and that reason above is mainly just me being slow to learn some things. i LOVE the people i work with and i don’t dread coming into work (unless i know i’m scheduled to come in right in the middle of peak lmao)

You won't know till you're there. My job is super short staffed and I got thrown in the deep end fast. I'm very tired but honestly I love the work, and my store director (in a grocery, currently no Bux manager) supports us and sees how hard we are working. I'm making more here and have better benefits than any other job I've had and I'm not exactly student age. My experience isn't everyone's, and no one's experience is yours. Read the reddit to get a sense of what you might likely face, scope out your local shops, see if you want to give it a try
