I’ve been a partner since May and I picked up the job fairly well. I’ve only missed one day because my manager made me stay home, and I’ve been late once because of a crazy traffic situation. Anyways bc of crazy life circumstances I have to move. I mentioned this to my manager at the beginning of July that it was a possibility and filled her in on why (it’s personal but also completely reasonable for needing to move). In the first week of August I told her it’s a for sure thing and I need to put in a transfer and she said okay.
At this point I was enjoying my job, I had slowly come to realize she didn’t like me very much she would snap at me often about little things and accuse me of things I wasn’t doing. But I didn’t see her much because we rarely worked the same shifts and she didn’t come in for half of hers. She told me she put in the transfer and I say “great!”. A week later I call the store I am transferring to (who are already expecting my transfer) and they haven’t received it telling me my manager said I wasn’t “ready” to transfer.
I check up on my transfer again thinking there’s been a miscommunication somewhere and I find out my manager is on vacation for a week but she says I need to fill out a form to transfer. Fine, whatever, I fill out the form and put it on her desk my shift saw me do it. She comes back tell me the DM is coming by that day and she’ll give it to her then. I wait a week and the new store still hasn’t received it. I check with my manager and she says the transfer system has been updated to online and she’s putting it in that afternoon. I wait a week and still the new store has nothing and keep saying my manager says I am not “ready” enough to transfer.
At this point it’s the end of August/beginning of September. And I am fed up with what’s happening so I track down the DM info and message her she didn’t respond but my manager calls me upset blaming me for my transfer not being in and how I should’ve taken care of this sooner. But she gets my info for the transfer again and I am reassured once more.
I called the new store once more and the same response! I call my DM and no response! I don’t know what to do but I feel deeply wronged about all this. Can I report them somehow bc google and the hub are giving me jack squat.
TLDR: my manager lied about putting my transfer in and now I am ducked. My DM hasn’t responded, how can I report them.
Update: I called corporate Starbucks and submitted a case for a specialist and should hear back soon! I’ll keep y’all updated.
