Iced cappuccino is a thing last I checked, I haven’t worked at Starbucks for three months maybe it was discontinued but fr it’s just an iced latte with cold foam 😭
Fun_Yak4015 -5 points 1y ago
I gave them what they wanted but the got so mad at me cuz the receipt and sticker didn’t say iced capp :,) like I tried my best
StellaLuxx 28 points 1y ago
I'm pretty sure if you click iced on a cappuccino it does change it to iced Capp. At least that's what it does in Canada.
marek_intan 26 points 1y ago
American here. It can be rung up on our register here too
mcr0414 32 points 1y ago
You can ring an iced cap. Just ring a cap. And press the iced button. It will say ice cappuccino on the sticker.
lanceofruin 23 points 1y ago
it can’t be mobile ordered i don’t think, but at my store at least the POS can still ring up an iced cappuccino. i’ve done it before. it’s like one of those items that’s not technically on the menu but can still be ordered. it’s shots, ice, splash of milk, and nonfat cold foam
oftheHowl 0 points 1y ago
Why would you do ice first, it's still milk after shots to the second line, then ice to the third line, then foam
amalia13lightning 4 points 1y ago
No, the recipe card for iced cappuccino changed to ice first after cold foam was introduced.
oftheHowl 2 points 1y ago
So for a tall you'd just dump a tall scoop of ice in the cup first? Sounds like a huge ripoff so I'll just keep doing the old way

because ice first is how the recipe card says to make it. it’s also to mimic a hot cappuccino. you don’t use a lot of steamed milk in a hot cappuccino; it’s mostly foam. so the iced one gets a tiny bit of milk and a lot of cold foam. milk to the second line would turn it more into an iced latte with cold foam, which although that’s prob what most people are looking for, it’s not really like a cappuccino that way
oftheHowl 1 points 1y ago
Foam from the third line all the way to the top is not more like an iced latte, it's how an iced cappuccino should be made. And if you actually put ice after the shots, and only a "splash" of milk, those shots will just sit at the bottom of the cup and not mix well enough. They're gonna be drinking foam, milk, then practically straight shots of espresso. Yummy

I’ve been able to ring them up, but I always make triple sure that’s what the people wanted. 90% of the time it’s not and they get mad. That 10% though still confuses me to this day.
SlushyPenguin82 2 points 1y ago
I had a lady ask for an iced cappuccino when i worked at a licensed sbux and i triple checked. She threw such a big fit that “that’s not what i wanted”, said she doesn’t like it when i make her drinks (even pointed at me). I had to call the grocery store manager to come defuse the situation while i ran to the back to stop myself from punching her
Kyde_Drakes 1 points 1y ago
Well, lady, if you don’t like they way someone makes your drink then maybe don’t ask them to?

At least, that would have been my response. I will never understand why people complain ‘this is why I don’t come here’ and then they still show up? Like, I didn’t drag you in here. There are other places they can go, but they enjoy the drama so they seek it out or create it.

Someone asked me to warm up the iced lemon loaf on DT. I said we couldn’t do that. She said, “are you sure? They’ve done it for me before” I said “yeah. We can’t do that.” I don’t argue anymore, I say what I need to say so I can be done with it. There is nothing left, I am numb to all. These people have sucked my soul out of my body.
slipperydish 2 points 1y ago
Yeah half the time those people are probably lying too
justkeepswimmingswim 3 points 1y ago
Right! “They’ve done it before” or “they do it at the other Starbucks.” Ok well go to the other one then, I dunno what to tell you.

It’s every job ever, though. At this point I’ve worked quite a few jobs and people are the same no matter what. Truthfully, it’s quite sad because it’s made me realize how many assholes exist.
slipperydish 2 points 1y ago
Customer service jobs are literally the worst
justkeepswimmingswim 1 points 1y ago
Don’t worry, I dealt with the same stuff in teaching and working at an Amazon warehouse too lolz maybe I’m just really bad at choosing jobs idk. They all seem like they’re awful though. Le sigh.

This is why licensed stores need access to the partner hub. They have no way of double-checking things like this, and then think that it's the OTHER stores not following standard.
ElijahLordoftheWoods 6 points 1y ago
You can definitely ring up an iced capp, I have a regular who gets one like 3 times a week.
vkapadia 6 points 1y ago
Then go the fuck home.

No one in this post knows that an iced cappuccino and an iced cappuccino with cold foam are 2 different drinks.

I made iced cappuccinos for Starbucks before cold foam even launched and completely took over the menu.
ueberschatten 1 points 1y ago
Agreed. I worked at bux for 2 years left shortly after cold foam was added to the menu. We would actually steam the milk for foam, shots, cold milk (I think to 1st or 2nd line), ice, topped with foam. Can't remember the recipe exactly, but you get my drift.

It'a def a thing.
mcr0414 1 points 1y ago
It’s cause hot foam on and ice drink is a health risk :) that’s why they introduced iced cap. Just that. Which is fill the cup with ice. Shots over ice. Nonfat 1st line and nonfat cold foam on top. It’s a health risk the other way. :)
No-Dimension-1035 3 points 1y ago
Someone came in and ordered an iced whole milk mixed with vanilla bean powder and I truly didn’t know quite how to ring it up. If anyone knows if that’s a thing, that would be helpful. They got frustrated later because there were only 6 scoops of powder and they wanted 10 (I did ask how many scoops and they just said a lot, i should’ve said a number and been like “does that sound right?”
marek_intan 9 points 1y ago
Under “other,” there’s an option for a “Cup of Cold Milk.” You can start with that!
BabySteele 3 points 1y ago
An Iced Capp use to be a thing. Someone ordered it at my store and so I asked my SSV how to make it and she was able to dig up an old recipe card for it. If i remember right its normal amount shots, milk to middle line, ice to top line, then cold foam rest of the way. That or milk to bottom line then ice to top
happypoptart0 1 points 1y ago
Iced cap is a thing!!
mrbubblegxm 1 points 1y ago
this may sound dumb. but do you make iced cap’s in the foaming blender. i just use 2% and foam it on 4 twice and it always comes out perfectly thicc
lilisredditaccount 1 points 1y ago
You can ring up an iced cappuccino ! The standard would be hot foam, but I always ask if they want coke foam and then I charge them for cold foam cause that’s technically an add on
Fun_Yak4015 1 points 1y ago
Y’all what’s with the hostility I’m an HMSHost Licensed store, even my managers have said it’s not a thing but I tried my best. Fuck off for those who wanted to bring me down about this
slipperydish 0 points 1y ago
Idk why people are so pressed. You clearly said you were new
Grouchy_Arugula7257 1 points 1y ago
At our Starbucks (UK licensed) we do have iced cappuccinos and cold foam iced cappucinos ☺️ I believe different regions carry different things.
For example, the UK doesn't do Trentas, egg bites, mango dragonfruit drinks etc
ProfessionalRock7940 1 points 1y ago
I left the Barnes and Noble cafe shortly after the cocoa cappuccino became a thing. It was fucking awful, before cold foam happened

This is why children shouldn't work this job, if you hate it this much in only your first month then find something else. In general, licensed stores are worse from what I've heard
