I don't want to finish my 2 weeks 😭 (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by dont-identify-me
I submitted my 2 weeks after only been working for the siren about 2 months. One of my classmates got COVID (I never really got super close with him) and I was isolating (I also had symptoms but it turned out to be tonsillitis) and my test came up negative. During the 3 shifts I needed to work and missed (after I already submitted my 2 weeks), I was asked to find coverage. I was running a fever of 102.4 and my throat was hurting and I told them I may or may not have covid and they still got upset with me. Now that I'm cleared for covid but still taking my antibiotics I needed to work later tonight and tomorrow until Monday. I also saw that a lot of people have been removed from our group chat . I really don't want to work those remaining 3 days anymore.
😭 😭

PS I also sent a nice card and letter to my (new) SM with nice bookmarks, some knick knacks and they never even acknowledged my resignation letter! I never got a confirmation or whatever so I don't know what to do. I did send a card to my old manager who is now a DM and she immediately sent me a "good luck to my future endeavors" and thanked me for my card.

I’m in a very similar situation but I actually did have COVID and my manager accused me of lying about it. She also cut my hours for the week, so I didn’t end up getting as much isolation pay as I was supposed to. I’m not going in for the rest of my shifts.

bruh don’t go then. You only worked there two months, unless it’s critical you want it on your resume OR you plan on returning at some point - you don’t owe them. It sounds like you were completely lovely and they were dicks about it.

also I hope you’re doing better!! being on antibiotics can be super rough
