Starbucks Baristas: The daily grind

1/2 Caffeinated or 3/4 Decaffeinated (self.starbucksbaristas)

We have a regular that orders an iced 2/3 decaf grande americano, but also wants it to be a quad shot. A fellow barista and I were saying to do it 1/2 caf but my fellow barista was saying to do it 3/4 decaf. I was wondering what others would do in the situation?

"hey man, since you added a shot there are 4 shots and I can't do 2/3 of 4 with this machine. Would you prefer 1/2 decaf -- 2 regular shots and 2 decaf shots -- or 3/4 decaf -- 1 regular shot and 3 decaf shots?"

two decaf shots, pull two half caff shots, but only put the cut under one side of the thingy so it only gets half that shot and then one regular shot, or just make the whole thing decaf 😂

3rd the 3/4 decaf. I'd interpret that order as the customer wants all but one of the shots decaf.

If I was in your situation, I would’ve done it 3/4 because I would think they’d still want it to be more decaf than caffeinated. This is assuming it’s not a crazy rush (I’m at a drive-thru store) and I have a moment to actually think about it, lol

I’d make the 3/4 decaf, a safer choice
