Best shoes (self.starbucksbaristas)

I'm a 28(F) barista and my knees and feet's have been killing me. I'm currently wearing cheap shoes with good insoles. But it's not cutting the opening-noon shift for me. I like sneakers or athletic shoes.

My fellow older baristas, What shoes do you recommend?

I wear and like half of the people at my store wear Docs. Specifically the tumbled leather pascals. I think they are really comfy and they are sturdy so it's not such a pain when you get stepped on. Plus syrups and such wipe right off. The leather addidas sneakers are also vv comfy I wear those for my other job bc I don't have a black pair yet if that's more your thing!

I completely agree, I have worn Doc Martens boots every day at work for the past six or seven years, and now most of my staff also has Docs. This is the first year I went with the Virginia Pascal 1460s, game changer

I’m an older barista who loves my Dansko clogs, the ones that have a high backs. My feet never hurt!

Go to a store that sells scrubs and buy nurses shoes! They can be a bit or an investment but I always feel the difference on a day I wear anything other than my pair.

I switch between Crocs and Hightop Vans. I used to wear cheap black shoes but I found that my feet were killllliinngggg me and I would burn through them like crazy. Vans during the week, Crocs on the weekend.

Dr scholls makes great shoes that I love! I also have a pair of Ecco shoes that are my other go-to’s (I’m 26 with a hip disability)

A lot of people at my store wear docs or Hokas, I wear the Hoka Bondi slip resistants and they're so comfy

I work in a similar environment and spent years selling footwear. I wear the new balance 860s they are ultra light and have excellent support, their upper is a lightweight mesh that feels extremely comfortable and is super breathable.

I also like they because they come in various widths and I have wide feet. A lot of people like Hokas but they tend to wear out faster than the new balance because their midsole is a softer tpu foam for a lot of their styles

I have tried all of the shoes mentioned above, but the best shoes I have ever worn are the Velcro SAS shoes. Omg my knees back and feet always killed me until now. They are super ugly though, but I don’t care 😂
