Alright…. We all have horrible days at drive thru. One customer in particular came in hot to the window. Loud. Af. I commented, “wow you’re loud, but I love it!” She was very vibrant. I completed her order. Food in bag. Passed her drinks. I was nice to her just like any other customer. She proceeded to end our interaction talking about how she was from Seattle and people at Sbux over there are much more nocer and patient. That we were rude and her entire order felt rushed. I called her loud. I couldn’t give her a simple cup of warm water. And that she would be calling corporate. This was during peak. Iam literally only working here because of the extra money….. but I don’t want to get fired either. I kinda like the job. Would I get fired if she does make a complain?

People love to complain. It depends on your manager of course but you’re very unlikely to be fired unless you do something actually bad. Like get into a fight or be racist or something.

100% of people who say they’re contacting corporate, don’t actually contact corporate. You really think they got the time for that? I’ve learned over these past two years to not really talk when people complain there is no point in trying to defend yourself because they won’t listen to you, they just want to feel important by telling you how bad of a job you’re doing. I mean if it makes their day better I’m all for it, just let rude customers ramble their anger away and hopefully karma deals with them at some point. You should be good, there’s no need to stress about other peoples problems.

Nope. You could upset 99 customers a day but if it isn’t your fault, you’ll be fine unless your manager is dumb

nah i had this karen at my old job at ihop full blown scream at me saying she'd give me a detailed bad review about me, i cried, but she hasn't done it to this day. People like that are all talk unless you actually discriminate or inflict violence. Which I'm sure you wouldn't do.
