mostly everyone at my store is at least decent. there were a couple of people that i thought didn’t like me, or were always annoyed with me because i didn’t know how to do certain things since i was new.

but as time passed we’ve gotten along really well. sometimes co-workers act cold (maybe on purpose, maybe not) towards the newbies because they think you’ll leave? they’ve probably seen a lot of people come and go. but once you get the hang of things and become more settled in they open up to you since they see that you’re serious about the job yk?

but also, it’s sometimes just them. don’t get too hung up on it. their character and the way they act is a reflection of themselves. i know everybody says that but it’s true. you’re new, so you can’t compare your limited time to other co-workers that have worked for much, much longer.

give it time and don’t let it get you down too much. you’re new so you have an excuse.

I’m the same, there’s like 3 people who’re 80% of the reason I want to quit and they’ve also been there the longest which is dreadful since they hang that seniority over my head every shift.

I know this post is like a week old but I’m having a similar problem. I really love my store, most of my coworkers are super nice, but there’s one shift lead who is super condescending towards me.

A week or so ago I was on cafe bar getting some practice in and she comes up to me and shows me a hot chocolate that only had the pumps of mocha in it and asked me to walk her through how to make hot chocolate. I told her, said everything correctly, and she just slapped the cup down on the counter for me to finish. Once I finished it she took it and handed it to a customer saying that I did everything right and the customer liked it but I don’t think she realized that, if that was a replacement for a previous drink, that it was ordered through the drive thru and thus I didn’t make the original? Idk I tried to say something but she walked away too fast but just the way she speaks to me sounds like how a teacher would talk to a kindergartner when they get in trouble so it sets the tone for my work day when she’s there.
