Me. It's me. We are down to literally three employees and ones a student, but we have a new hire starting in a few days who I recommended, hardest worker I know. Today our district manager started training me on inventory and profits/losses and other general computer work.
I've been here six weeks. But you know what? Even as hard as I've had to work, I love it. My store is unionized, the pay is great, benefits are good, we rarely have rude or demanding customers and rarely get swamped with rushes. And we get tips, which is a nice bonus for a GroceryBux
I'm not fresh out of school and starry eyed by any means, I've been working customer service as long as some of the baristas I work with have been alive, and all the jobs I've had this is the first I've ever had that allowed me a chance to grow, to make over minimum, where higher staff has been supportive (my store director aknowkedges my hard work often, with kind words and compensation.) I know the Starbucks horror stories but I also know so much of it comes down to management and store environment, and I feel like I can make something work here.
