It’s tricky. None of you have been spared feeling the pressures of this ongoing supply and labor shortage, but I think maybe my district has been especially mismanaged. SMs fired for being with their sick children in the hospital, for not being able to slow turnover. It’s wild, but it was too much, and I’ve decided it’s time to move on. (I’m also 27 and have a bachelor’s degree, haha.)
Working on the corporate side has been way kinder to me than the franchise size (that is, working for a DT store than my old Barnes & Noble Café). I really loved my job while it worked, especially being a shift. Becoming a SSV made this job for me.
But oh, the partners. You guys are the heart and soul of these stores. It breaks my heart to see so many of you overworked and under appreciated. I’m serious. You’ve got corporate scared. Unionizing could work. You all deserve so much more than an overdue cost of living raise.
I’m looking forward to lurking and supporting the hell out of this sub. To all of you bad bitches still out on the floor, you’re amazing. Cheers from the bathtub washing away the scent of frap roast one last time.
