If you know what store you want to transfer to, talk to the manager there (we’ll call them the “new SM”) and go through things like availability (as if the store has room for you and your personal availability for scheduling) and where you are in the transfer process. Once you’ve met the new SM and had that conversation, talk to your current SM and at that time, put in the transfer request. The request is just a form that you can print out from the store computer that you fill out and hand to your SM. If your SM asks why you want to transfer (which they almost certainly will) then do what you must—I lied and gave proximity to my house as a reason because I had to get out of my old store for the sake of my mental health and was afraid that wasn’t a good enough reason for a transfer.
Everything after that is out of your hands. Your current SM might have a conversation with the new SM, it goes through the DM, and then everyone either approves it or disapproves it.
Now, my old SM refused to speak to me about the status of my transfer and lied to me by saying it would take 60 days to process. About three weeks later I visited my new store, where my new SM said the transfer had been approved the week before and that my first day was like 4 or 5 days from then. If your SM is good, they’ll talk to you about the transfer and keep you updated; mine didn’t bother.
Good luck!

The store managers handle the actual nitty gritty details of the transfer, you just have to tell your current store manager and the manager of the store you want to transfer to. As for pay idk how it’s determined exactly but when i moved back to the bay area i got like almost a $2 raise, it definitely depends on your area. if you’re moving in the same city i’m not sure if you’ll see a pay increase but you might!
