Baristas are about to be bumped to $12/hr, in the U.S. at least.

They aren’t bumping to set wages, they did a percentage increase. For example, my states (Arizona) minimum wage is already $12, so if it was a flat increase, we wouldn’t get raises. My wage is going up from 12.65 to 13.20 I believe.

I made $8.25 when I started at Starbucks in 2013. Left six years later as a shift at around $13.85 when I got recruited for an Assistant Manager position and a big raise at a different coffee shop. Starbucks vastly underpays and does not give a damn about its hourly employees

Well I do live in LA and bc of the raises every year it's 16.50, a new brand new barrista earns 15.77 and when I started it was 14.25

Just looked it up to contextualize, the minimum wage in LA is $15/hr

(which i'm sure in the context of cost of living is still horrendous)

Move to Manhattan, I started last month at $15.77 and it’s going up a bit more next month. But moving to Manhattan means paying NYC rent, so never mind, I don’t recommend it.

In Atlanta where I'm at I got started at 12 in July and I was told/heard SSVs make 15.
