feel fast, but drive times are high (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by bjorksbutthole
Does anyone else relate to feeling fast on bar and like you’re doing a pretty good job and then you look up at the drive screen and see the drive times are sorta high (higher than you would’ve expected). I don’t get it because I feel like i’m moving quickly but the drive times don’t always reflect that. What do you guys think? Do you think there could be other factors going into it that I’m not considering? Thanks ;)

DTR/DTO/warming speed definitely contributes, plus size of orders and complexity or drinks 🤷‍♀️

1 6 drink order will definitely add a minute or two. Let alone multiple in short span of time

Might be a good idea to check that the person at DTR is pressing to finish the orders right when the customer drives away. I’ve seen some DTR partners who forget that for a while and it can add time!

What?

depends on how large the customer’s order is, if there’s something they wanted to change with their drink, if they wanted to add on to their order, etc.

also if the food warming person also has to do front register that’s a big factor. food comes out slower especially if there’s a lot of café customers.

also, if DTR is expediting orders then yeah, that can take longer. they have to take orders, make sure they’re handing out the correct food/drinks, and deal with the customer at the window.
