So, is your daily food and drink markout worth more, or less, than 1 hr of work? (self.starbucksbaristas)

For me in Seattle I make a couple dollars more than what the markouts are worth, but for some reason it bothers me to think about a cup of coffee and reheated sandwich being worth an hour of work, or even more for some of you.

You make complicated “fancy” drinks for richer people than you for prices that we can’t afford personally and have to do it with a smile:)

Before I quit I asked for a raise. My DM told me no because “food and bev mark outs are already equal to one rent paycheck”. No. Becky. It’s not the same as you paying for my rent. Which I can barely afford on a Starbucks paycheck.
