No more food and drink on off days ?? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by RIPmeupthearse
Apparently the free food and drink on off days is going away starting next week :( I have a new job opportunity coming up in the field I actually went to school for and I was gonna keep working sbux on the weekends mainly for the food and drink benefits but honestly now I'm probably just going to quit 😅😅😩

i do not care personally 🧍🏻 i will simply obtain 2 chicken caprese paninis and mark them down as a loss

“Simply obtain” 🤣

Someone seemed to always tag them wrong at my store! It was crazy. We seemed to have a few items left over that were set to expire when I could have sworn they were just pulled the day before. But what do I know?

It ends on the fourth of october, it’s back to only getting them on the days you work. We do get seven food mark outs a week, however we’re now responsible for counting those.

Tbh I’d keep the job for 30% off and then mark out your 7 food items on the days you work (new weekly update actually encourages this! Lol)

Idk what you usually drink but you can make a trenta refresher base, iced tea, iced coffee, or cold brew ration out for your whole week not to mention using your coffee mark out for home!

I left the company and came back and tbh I spent so much paying full price for coffee in my year off that it would’ve been better to keep working one day a week😅

I thought it has been extended indefinitely?

Just kidding. I just saw another post a few below that it ends on the 4th. :(

The ONLY benefit of losing the mark outs is that I won’t be upset when a partner STILL charges me for the food mark out.

Honestly I don’t really use regular markouts. Was it nice? Yes. but I don’t go to Starbucks outside of work enough to care.

I wouldn’t get my mark out every day but people that are in financial situations where this was their only meal in the day and their drink of the day, I can see how it’s tough for them. Not everyone can afford food and at least they used to get one free meal a day

You’re right I can see where it’s difficult for them. It had to end eventually through. It wasn’t meant to be permanent and and while Starbucks can afford to keep it going it just doesn’t surprise me.

i really don’t see why people are so mad about it . you’re still gonna be able to get a discount lol
but same ! i don’t really use my mark outs unless i’m out with someone
rio8envy7 2 points 1y ago
I don’t go to Starbucks on my day off unless I go to the beach which isn’t that often. We get a pretty decent discount so I don’t see why it’s a big deal.

I quit my core location to work at a Tarbucks but they didn’t take me out of the system so I’ve still been getting mark outs for like three weeks. This is so sad.

I’m dramatic, but it does make me saddddddd I loved it while it lasted.

I don’t care enough to not help out my fellow baristas as save them their money. Oops I forgot I guess

Yea I don’t really even use my markouts even when I work. I’ve been there long enough to be sick of everything at my store. I pretty much only drink water when I am working and the thought of going to a Starbucks on my day off is not happening. I work 40 hours a week I am not using my two days off to go to a Starbucks for coffee that I don’t even like. I would rather get more of a pay raise than some dumb markout. I was here before the off day markouts and I for one will be glad when it’s gone.
