“Nails should be clean, well-manicured and of short or moderate length. Nail polish or artificial nail coverings of any type are not permitted.” This is pulled from page 24 of the partner guide, which you would have gotten when hired and also have access to on PartnerHub. This is not a new policy.

I’m a barista who watched 2 coworkers be reprimanded by our DM for trying to hide fake nails under gloves.

Why weren’t you wearing gloves at the Starbucks you helped at? Can you explain that situation further?

Oh, then honestly I don’t know. I mean like the other person said, it is against the rules, however I do understand why you’d think wearing gloves should make it okay. How long are your nails? If they’re long enough or sharp enough to break through the gloves, then I don’t think it would be okay. Personally, even though I used to love getting my nails done, and would love to get some acrylics, when I was hired and told about the nails rule, I just stuck to it and didn’t try to find a loophole around it. Maybe just keep your nails short and clean?
