Outside of winter-holidays they usually work like any other day. Request off as normal.

Winter holiday season is one of Starbucks' busiest times even not counting that more than usual people want off, so it can be a different ball game. I'm not sure what the usual rule is or will be now that app requests off is standard, if it'll be first come first serve or what. In the past it was pretty common for SM's to put up a sign-up sheet for the big winter holidays specifically, and they might ask that you commit to working x number of them or somesuch. Basically they'd do what they could to be fair. Mostly mentioning this to point out not to expect a lot of time off being an easy ask during the holiday season. "I want every holiday off" is mildly unreasonable in an average Starbucks environment as well. Just since you mentioned you're a greenbean and some of your phrasing here, I'm not sure where your expectations stand.

I just went on the app and requested days off
Sometimes depending on the manager they will tell you why they did not approve it and then you can like request other days around it or something

My SM said she doesn’t require ppl to work on holidays and that it’s a voluntary shift.
