i worked at a store back in my hometown for over a year (287!!) and working at my new store is making me really homesick. in fact it’s the ONLY thing making me homesick. this store just isn’t as nice as my store was and i miss my old coworkers. i know we can take LOA’s but those only last 3 months. is there any way i can work at just my store when i’m back home? or would i have to quit altogether? i don’t want to quit, i still love my job, just not a fan of this new store so far

I transferred back and forth throughout college too :) You can technically pick up shifts at your old store when you’re visiting home (weekends, holidays, etc.) as long as both store managers approve.

If you’re only talking about working there when you are home, I do believe you would have to quit. However, if you talk to your store manager at your old store I’m sure they would be happy to hire you back when you are staying at home. When you’ve been a barista the hiring process is pretty easy! Or lowkey you can just tell your SM you can only work one day a week and get another job until you transfer back to your home store 😂

Contact the manager of your old store and explain the circumstances.

They may or may not allow it, but given the shortage of employees and your experience they may be more than happy to have your for three months.

You may also find that the old store isn't the store you remember..
