Position/store hiring help? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by dexterwolf1
Hey fellow partners and ex partners! I have a question. I’m wanting to quit my other job to work at a Tarbux. The thing is i’m also working at a corporate starbucks store. Is it possible to work at a corporate store and a licensed store at the same time? Or is it seen as taking too many hours on the same system? any advice or experience appreciated!

It is allowed. It isn’t up to the dm and there certainly is not a policy against it.

Sounds like mixed reviews… i’ll try to navigate it carefully

I am an almost 15 year partner and a dm. Licensed stores are NOT the competition, the money they make literally funnels right back to Starbucks and they are overseen by a licensed district manager that works for Starbucks. While stores should not be actively recruiting from each other, every partner can apply for a position with a licensee, and they will decide if they want to hire you or not. Most licensees actively look for people with Starbucks experience because it means much less training needs to take place.

this is kind of what i figured… i’d like to work more hours but it wouldn’t be possible at my store. So i figured a licensed store would be the best next step!

Depends on the relationship your license holder has with local leadership. Some of our franchisees here will literally sue us over poaching while others do not care and will gladly share.

No im pretty sure it’s very against starbucks policy. You’d technically be working for a competitor

I've heard it depends. Some district managers view it as that, while some are fine with it because it's technically a different company so it's not overusing hours. Either way, they should disclose it with their store/district manager to hear their thoughts to make sure they're fine. It'll probably be okay as I've seen a good amount of people work at both licensed and corporate locations, but if not they can always apply for a different position at Target like cashier or stock
