sooooooo my sm is anti- vax and is never wearing his mask in the back. ngl i double mask up because i feel gross being around him. I live in southern california, do any other partners know what the rules are for wearing masks in the back of house for unvaxed partners when you’re not actively eating or drinking?

Masks are required regardless of vaccine status if not eating or drinking.

If you’re in Los Angeles County, there is also a mask mandate. If you wanted to you could post a tip to the health department and the store would get a nasty fine.

i’m in the IE :-(

I’m also in the IE, it’s required within most of California that unless everyone is vaccinated masks are required throughout the store

I know my old district was super strict on masks on in the back while the lobby’s were closed, we even had to sit at a table in the lobby. Not sure what they’re doing know, but I’m pretty sure if someone complained to my old dm about it she would do something. Unfortunately, it all depends on if your dm will enforce the policy.

Talk to your DM. Or call corporate and anonymously complain about it. The masks are required and if you feel at risk you can and should report it

Call or email your DM.

I guess you can call HR or something.

Report him. It might actually be a fineable offense. In my county it is technically a misdemeanor to not adhere to the mask mandate. Every county is different of course, but Starbucks might have separate rules that will make it a necessity for employment.
I’m in SoCal and we are advised to wear them when we are not eating or drinking regardless if we are vaccinated or not.

Call calOSHA and file a complaint!! It can be anonymous. They will reach out to the store and put your management on notice or send someone out to investigate. I’ve done it and they are super helpful and quick to respond.

I’ll keep my comments to myself but from what everyone else is saying, just report it

just try not to be around him and keep double masking if it makes you feel safer
jordanshaw8919 points1y ago
I don’t mean to attack you, however I do feel it is necessary to stress that this is not good advice, we can’t support the third place for everyone if one person is ignoring the policies, being complacent towards an issue will only compound on his bad behaviors. if he gets away with being so blatant about his disregard for the safety of his partners, or even beyond that the environment that partners are working in, he should be coached or separated from the company. we should contribute positively, I always advocate for raising the issue with your DM or if they aren’t fixing it, calling corporate, there are plenty of people working for this company that do care about following policies and keeping people safe and feeling comfortable in the workplace. Sorry to rant but felt this needed to be said.

i know there are partners who keep their masks off in the back if they’re on break or smt even if another partner is there - unless they get real close - so i guess that’s what i was thinking. but thank you for responding, what you said makes a lot of sense! also dw it’s not attacking
