Reminder about Oatmilk and Almondmilk(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Loolander
240 Supervisor here just leaving a quick reminder to all of us (myself included) about shaking our Oatmilks and Almond milks before using them. If they come out clear they're going to really ruin the consistency and flavor of any drink they're used in. It's especially apparent in the Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.
I know we're all understaffed and overworked but taking a moment to shake a milk will elevate your stores drinks significantly, and partners and customers you're making the drinks for will notice! Love you all.

All non-dairy milks need to be shaken before use. Also, you need to take the seal off of the milk when it’s a new carton and then shake it, otherwise there’s no room for the liquid to actually mix together.

Yep. It's just the most noticeable with those two.

Omg this!!! I cant tell you how many times Ive gone to Starbucks and ordered my drink with oat milk and it tastes off because whoever made it didn’t shake the milk before pouring it. It really makes a difference! I’m a partner too btw :)

PLEASE put the lids back on them as well. I have shaken far to many without caps on them :(:(.

I finally just forced myself to ingrain it into my muscle memory to shake with my thumb over the lid. Got doused with coconut milk one time too many and said “I will never let this happen again” lmao

Does oatmilk looked clear when not shaken? Haven’t seen it myself but I still shake them before opening cuz that’s how they were designed to open
Loolander [OP]9 points1y ago
Slightly yes. This isn't as clear of a difference as the almondmilk, but it is considerably less "milky" you can test this yourself by pouring a freshly opened oatmilk and an opened and shaken oatmilk! :)

I would do that but then the tab wouldn’t open properly and I would be forced into poking a hole with the scissor
Loolander [OP]3 points1y ago
Ugh the struggle is real my dude.
darkwolf5231 points1y ago
Yup. Every time I see it at my store, I’ll put it back and get a new one lmao. I don’t have time to stand there and wait as it pour in slowly

When I have a new one, I pull the tab first and then shake. It’s made it soooo much easier

Oh god, when I see a coworker pass out an iced soy drink with a layer of chunky soy sediment on the bottom I wanna run and scream in the corner!
