Okay so I just did my onboarding and my manager seems pleasant enough, however she repeatedly asked me if I would like a drink other than water. I definitely did, but this particular store is so busy and I felt like that would just overall be irritating for whoever was on the bar. I'm scared to say it but I love Frappuccinos and I know baristas hate the cold bar from this reddit lol. The pamphlets state we get 3 free drinks or something to that effect and because I have 0 clue on how to make even a venti water I don't want to ask a partner to make my drinks. I haven't even been introduced and I feel like that would put a sour taste in my own mouth if the roles were reversed. Basically, how do you get your free drinks without burdening other partners?

Most partners are more than happy to make your drink especially when you’re new! They might give you a bit of a hard time about getting the Frappuccino but it’s all in good fun.
Don’t be afraid to take advantage of your perks! That’s part of your compensation!

Honestly don’t worry about it! You’re new, no one is gonna care or expect you to know how to make anything. Don’t bother to try to make something you don’t know how to, order your frap up front. Just don’t order lots of fraps during peak or anything like that and you’ll be fine :)

Usually while working, I’ll make it if it’s not getting in the way of other partners. Otherwise whatever, if a partner gets mad they have to make a drink then it’s a personal problem of their own.

No. If they are that busy, it’s easier for them to make them for the first few weeks of you working anyway. Once you learn and practice you will be able to quickly make your drink without being in the way.
As much as we complain about making Frappuccino’s it’s not the drinks themselves that’s annoying to make.

Just order your drink. It’s honestly not a hassle.
The lids that go on Frappuccino’s are awful and the Frappuccino Roast sprays everywhere.

i actually love making drinks for my coworkers. it’s a little way of showing love imo. if we’re super busy it makes more sense to order ur drink at the register so ur not in anyone’s way.

I felt like that when I was training at another store but turns out it was because they weren’t really nice to me in general, assuming because I struggled with grasping some of the recipes and whatnot. In my new store, I willingly offer to make drinks for partners who have been around for longer than I do, just to make sure they have enough time to rest during their break.
