My store manager completely blew me off today when I needed to talk to her, now I'm unsure of what to do.(self.starbucksbaristas)

I started college again recently and this is my first time I am actually going in person. Im excited about it but im also completely burnt out because I haven't had a day off.
Before school started I was putting in my new schedule, im at school everyday during the week until late at night so I can only work the weekends. I asked my Store Manager if I can only work 2 out of the 3 weekend days as I felt like I needed a day off, and she agreed. I understand this left me at only 14-18 hours a week but I was completely okay with it seeing as school comes first.
However it has now been four weeks and I still haven't had a day off. Ive worked a full eight hour shift, every day of every weekend for the last four freakin' weeks.
So today I asked my store manager before I came in if we could connect and talk about my hours, something she said she could do. However once I got there and clocked in, she completely blew me off and putzed around all shift talking to the shifts and customers meanwhile I was solo drive-thru for 3 freakin hours straight.
By the time I had my first ten she was long gone and when I texted her asking if she was still here, she completely left me on read.
So now im unsure of what to do. I know she's busy and now she is managing another store but I feel like I'm being completely ignored. Im here every day im scheduled, I do as much as I can while I'm here, I've never taken a sick day (even when I had a 100+ fever, I was just told to clock in and get to work) hell I even worked on my own friggin birthday party when I wasn't even supposed to be on.
Im tired of being used by this stupid store but I don't want to call out sick every week (despite the fact everyone else does it) what should I do?

Just pick which day you want off and submit it on Starbucks Partner Hours. It won’t go into effect until 3 weeks from now but hopefully that notification will remind your SM that you need that day off when they go to make the next schedule on Monday.
I’m so sorry you’re feeling burnt out - remember that mental health days are important and it’s ok to call out (even if they guilt trip you) for the sake of your own sanity. Making coffee isn’t worth losing your focus on school!

Your story is the embodiment of the phrase "people don't quit jobs, they quit managers." Your manager is likely just as burned out as everyone, but it's in their job description and they're compensated to see their staff taken care of. Don't threaten to quit, but try to remind them that you're running on empty and it's starting to effect school and your work performance. If you're never able to recharge, you'll never have 100% to give to begin with.

make sure you take a sick day for your mental health before you burn yourself out even more!

When they schedule me outside of my availability I do the polite thing that covers my bases:
I immediately call the store and say “hey I’m calling out on the 24th in advance, I wasn’t supposed to be scheduled that day. Do you mind making a note in the back to see if anyone wants it?”
Then I text my boss “good morning, on the 24th I am scheduled outside of my availability so I won’t be able to come in. I had molly make a note in the back room to see if anyone can take it, I hope that can help!”
By doing this I’m absolving myself from the responsibility of that shift. If anyone tries to say I’m a no call no show, the shift molly heard me say weeks prior that it was outside my availability AND my favorite part is that it is a little bit of public embarrassment for the SM. Now she thinks we are all talking about how our availability isn’t respected and they get scared straight.
Also you are in charge of your own availability. Bestie- I work one day per week while I’m in school and the amount of guilt trips I’ve just ignored is INSANE. but I ignore it because the alternative isn’t worth it to me. My advice for you is to write down on a piece of notebook paper your availability each day and then tape it to the back desk, and send her a text saying it’s there for her. You don’t need any reason or justification for your availability— it’s Starbucks!! That’s their thing Is to be flexible.

Your manager is paid to deal with the store’s problems, you are not. They’re also paid to manager their store, which includes managing your schedule and availability. It’s not your job and you do not get paid to absorb their shortcomings. Yes, I’m sure she’s being overworked and is just as stressed out as the rest of us. But she’s also getting paid more and dealing with your scheduling IS her job.

what's stopping you from quitting? cuz honestly your sm is doing exactly what you're thinking. they're ignoring you and pretending not to realize so that they can get you to work. im literally in the same boat as you and even though i need the money im about to quit. id much rather do something like uber eats so i can make money on my own time than come in to a job where im clearly just an unappreciated pawn

Mostly the benefits and location. Even though I'm still pretty young, matching 5% for my 401k is real good, also the building is like 5 minutes away from. My house.

Change your availability in the partner hub to always have one day off, if she refuses make up something important you “have” to do on that day.

Thats what I did but im still getting scheduled. And whenever I try and call out I always get guilt tripped into coming in.

Check on the app to see if it’s approved. If she approved the availability and she’s still scheduling you on your day off, you should complain to the dm that she’s scheduling you outside your availability. Some people who have more guts than I do might just keep calling out and saying they have an unknown cough those days until the manager gets the message, but you could get in trouble for that.
