I’m starting next week and during the interview they mentioned that there’s a free online therapy benefit for the employees! Does anyone take advantage of that? If so, please let me know how it works and if it’s HONESTLY beneficial. I’m too shy to ask about it once I start and am in need of therapy, but can’t really afford it so I just want to know the process!

I know several coworkers who use it and I've looked into it myself. It's most likely going to be online video therapy if you live in a high covid case area like I do. But, most people have positive experiences from what I hear. You get 20 free sessions which is pretty good for therapy through your job.
It's really meant as a placeholder while you wait to qualify for insurance and then you can pay a copay. But, if you stretch out your appointments you can make it last for a while.

Do they have actual psychiatrists though.

I see a therapist through lyra and this is legitimately the best therapy experience ive ever had. I can go about every other week (i do have to skip a week here and there) and it was super easy to set up

I see a therapist through Lyra. But I didn’t space out my sessions/couldn’t bc I needed help so I ran out of sessions. Besides that I really like my therapist and it was a very easy. It made getting help a lot more accessible and I didn’t have to stress about insurance and co pays and finding a therapist in my area (that is until I ran out of sessions). I really recommend it.

did you end up getting back in touch with them?

Yes, I’m starting sessions with him again in October and I’ll be spacing them out and paying out of pocket for any extra sessions. I was still in contact with him through email but he didn’t take my insurance and it was too expensive for me to pay so I had to wait until the fiscal year is over.

good:) although it’s an extra payment i’m glad you’re getting the help. And that helps a lot because if i do end up liking it i’m hoping i can stay in touch with whom ever it is. thanks for sharing!

I used it for a couple months while I was at Starbucks. Iirc it was pretty easy to set up. They even had an auto-filled-in-email which was great for those of us who feel awkward emailing.
It's still just therapy, it isn't a miracle or anything. But it definitely was helpful for me, I learned some tricks to help deal with anxiety and sensory issues. I had online sessions (every week? maybe every other) for an hour. We generally had a good connection but there was flexibility to switch to phone calls if there was too much internet trouble that day.
