I had to do a 6 AM milk run once and TWO SEPARATE PEOPLE asked me if i had lots of babies at home like i not only had 2% but half and half and heavy cream too. in what world is that feeding babies!!? 😭😭 it was so awkward
Sarahthelizard32 points1y ago
> in what world is that feeding babies!!
tbf that's what a couple of 13 year olds drink in a week.
BatWeary21 points1y ago
didn’t you know? giving a baby a bottle of heavy cream every morning is obviously the superior diet…
jackissosick28 points1y ago
Start them off keto
muhkiim5 points1y ago
Maybe I should start doing this for my 2 year old. She is not gaining weight and is still fluctuating between 22 and 24 pounds. Like girl. Come on. The pediatrician is going to think I'm not feeding you 😅
escapeorion12 points1y ago
When I do a milk run for my store, a nonstarbs joint, people ask me what all the milk is for and it’s like. I’m here every week some of you have to have seen me before.
Magnhild9482 points1y ago
Why are we like this 😭
philosopher_cat_lady80 points1y ago
Because Starbucks underestimates how many goddamn customers we're gonna have
the1noir15 points1y ago
Starbucks doesn’t decide how much milk we order? That’s your supervisors lol.
Cristian92sc28 points1y ago
This is true. But to be fair, the delivery sometimes arrives way too late or not at all. So this has to be done so we can be ready for peak. Our district (I don't know about other districts) is having a hard time finding new drivers, so we've received our order as late as 1pm the day of, when we usually receive it around 7-9pm the day before. But you're right, we decide how many milks we get.
ItzBoogieMan14 points1y ago
Mann fukin delivery mfs. Our store once had to re use a green mop head for a day after it was sitting in dirty rags for 24 hours. Then we had to use 5-6 clothes bunched together for the next day and we were out of clothes for 5 days in a row and had to borrow bags of clothes from other stores. Fuck this job
philosopher_cat_lady10 points1y ago
I mean, of course, I'm overgeneralizing. There are lots of factors. We waste milk when we mess up drinks or customers need a remake.
todaytrip5 points1y ago
but my supervisors are Starbucks
Trending_Gamer29 points1y ago
What on earth is purple top milk.
Only seen red, green and blue.
beautifulcam [OP]35 points1y ago
2%, apparently there's no standard in top colors 🤷♂️
jelizt37 points1y ago
Yea at my store purple is nonfat so I was confused as to why you needed so much
veganwifey28 points1y ago
Lol purple is breve here I was thinking the same thing 😂
italyphoenix8 points1y ago
That’s so weird, my store purple was half and half!
philosopher_cat_lady4 points1y ago
Just commented the same exact thing
snowflakenecklace2 points1y ago
at my old store i'm pretty sure purple was heavy cream so i was Very alarmed... and also wondering what store sold it in full gallons.
Trending_Gamer7 points1y ago
Huh, never knew that's the way in the US.
In the UK we've got 3: - red 0% - green 50/50 - blue full fat
philosopher_cat_lady10 points1y ago
In the U.S.:
Purple: nonfat Blue: 2% Red: whole
dallizzlee20 points1y ago
Ours is different (also the US) purple is half and half. Nonfat is blue, 2% is like a mint color, and whole is red
katthekickass6 points1y ago
Not necessarily! In my area purple is half and half, dark blue is 2%, light blue is nonfat, and red is whole milk.
IAMACHRISTMASWIZARD3 points1y ago
in Canada (in the brand my store uses at least): (in jugs): yellow: whole pink: 2% dark blue: nonfat (in cartons): green: half and half pink: whipping cream
AJ2288422 points1y ago
Purple here is heavy cream. Nonfat is baby blue, 2% royal blue or sometimes orange.
laughingashley2 points1y ago
I think it is chosen by each different brand, and most stores only carry the one brand of basic milks so you'd only really see the ones where you get your groceries. When I get milk at a different store it always takes me a minute to figure out which is which!
Trending_Gamer2 points1y ago
Ahh, that does help if it's one main brand, I'd get quite confused if not.
Most of the shops are own brand milk supplied by two/three large companies so its quite standardised so you know what your getting.
philosopher_cat_lady3 points1y ago
I thought it was nonfat! Nonfats tend to have purple lids in my area. But then I was like, "Why does her store need that much nonfat milk?"
HollowRibcage2 points1y ago
Shi purple for us is nonfat 👀
ChemicalBarnacle4 points1y ago
It’s half and half
mrsnataliehooper24 points1y ago
I didnt process the shadow and thought you got half a backseat of chocolate milk.😂
[deleted]16 points1y ago
were...were we the legends foretold in the math textbooks of yore????
philosopher_cat_lady12 points1y ago
Did the same thing the other day! Had to get 2%, whole, and nonfat. We had one nonfat milk in our hot bar fridges. I went at 6:00 a.m. The Walmart employee was rude to me because I took "her cart" in order to be able to handle all those milks. (Walmart has just opened and she was already in a shitty mood, lol. I don't blame her, though. She works at Walmart.) I transferred them from my cart to the other one as I rang them up. I was like, "I'll give you this cart once I empty it." I drive an SUV as well, so it's easy for me to go on our ever so frequent milk runs. I didn't buy QUITE as much milk as you did, as we were getting a shipment later that morning.
During milk runs, I get, "Ok, I just gotta know why you're buying all that milk." "I work at Starbucks." "Ah." "Ok, it's either a daycare or a café." "Starbucks. Café."
Razza_ma_tazza8 points1y ago
Working at a kiosk in a grocery story was always funny Bc we would pull milk for the kiosk right from the back but I always just took it from the shelves and it drove the diary department wild so they started pulling them back as I would try to grab them as a joke lol. Good times.
AtTheBarMatt1 points1y ago
You're trying to fifo and they're just lazy.
Razza_ma_tazza1 points1y ago
They always were mad we messed up their inventory line up Lolol
mgordon146 points1y ago

femme4444 points1y ago

elpayasoeso114 points1y ago

TylerJ7163 points1y ago

Pale_Ad_14143 points1y ago
I’ve been asked to do it and I refuse every time 🤷🏼 not my job to use my own car for company products
beautifulcam [OP]1 points1y ago
it's a nice break on company time
Pale_Ad_14141 points1y ago
I purposefully say no to my specific manager because she tries to sweet talk me just when she ask favors. It’s funny to say no.
LackOfColor_3 points1y ago
This is a nightmare… however I can’t stop thinking that they look like a bunch of children that got woken up super early for a trip and they’re just packed in the car, accepting their fate
Swordxxxx3 points1y ago
I hate having to go for milk runs in the pandemic. People look at me like I’m disgusting for buying a shit ton of milk 😂
VenusInFirs3 points1y ago
The milk in the shadows makes it seem as if you grabbed a few gallons of chocolate milk as well.
canadianbatman972 points1y ago
Wait do you guys have to pour the milk from those giant jugs???
keylimerose1 points1y ago
yuh
canadianbatman971 points1y ago
Yikes. Very thankful for bagged milk rn
captainpanda971 points1y ago
When I was still working for the siren, I was moving at the time and they had me go get milks. I didn’t think much of it until I got to my home store and my SSV had someone come out and help me. That’s when the panic hit me. She sent this sweet and quiet single mother to come and help me unload my car full of Starbucks brand milk. I started remembering all the things I had in my car that I was bringing over to my new place that day not limited to but including, a giant fuck off real ass sword, and my unicycle. Thankfully she just laughed it off but I felt really exposed in that moment.
