I was a barista for about a year when one of our regular customers asked me if I’d be interested in interviewing for a dream job where she worked, purely based off my attentiveness with customers.

I accepted the job, which was with a major airline’s vacation department on the corporate contracts teams, so my job was literally to go to resorts and hotels and work with them to contract offers for our travel agents and customers. Aaaaaand then the pandemic hit and the job totally changed.
The point is: just doing my best as often as I possibly could at my job at Starbucks gave me an opportunity to do something amazing!

Fast forward to today, and in a few weeks I’ll be back at the bucks as an ASM and am really looking forward to it despite knowing how difficult food service and retail is right now!

What airline and are they hiring?
sagataurcan 3 points 1y ago
For that specific role? No

But I do believe they are hiring just for phone customer service agent and have opened that opportunity to remote workers in some locations, and that job comes with free flight benefits!

Throw delta vacations in your google search 😉

Thank you so much. I want to get into the travel industry and honestly Starbucks has turned into a shit show.

I moved on to a job in the construction/skilled trades industry. I got the right offer at the right time and couldn’t be happier. I am learning new skills every day, earning an associates degree and a journeyman certification. My position isn’t very hard on the body and I’m not doing anything too dangerous, and I’m in a new setting each day.

I moved on to a small, local coffee shop

I got hired by a local tea shop and I loved it, but I’m moving on to something that’s more of a career now
