Story time:
I was working in this one cafe during a heatwave. The AC was broken, so the manager decided it was a good idea to open the front, and back doors. There were no bug screens.
I leave some milk steaming on the machine as I stock my fridge. Milk is done, shots are done. I make the drink, and send it out. Didn't notice anything untoward.
A minute later someones walking up to the register with the drink I just made.
Full of flies. Like at least two dozen. Thankfully the poor girl realized before ingesting any (*I just remembered, she realized because of the odd squishy bits in her mouth) ... I guess they really love hot milk and they could smell it from the street. Then when they try to land on it, they just get sucked in and held down by the foam.

Thankfully not. As well it was a big family group, like 6-7 people. They all got their meal comped.

That’s good. It’s like when there’s spoiled milk because no one rotates the milks. I don’t have time to get sued for something like that, that’s why the first thing I do when I start my shift is to make sure we’re using the milks with a closer date to expirationdate
