Why is it a conflict of interest to work at SBUX and Coffee Bean? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by AnxiousCoffeeHero
I’m thinking of working at both (one cafe Sbux store) and another Coffee Bean down the street. However, CB system alerts if you’ve worked for a competitor in the past, but has anyone had any experience with this? Did your store managers even care at all?

Part of your onboarding is agreeing to not work with a similar merchant type and it’s to keep the competition from knowing what Starbucks does before they launch and they can get an advantage in the marketplace. If you don’t tell them, they’ll never know.

Because they’re a Starbucks competitor. When you sign paperwork you’re pretty much signing a non compete. What if you mentioned something by accident thats a Starbucks thing?

Thanks for explaining, I was genuinely curious since I’m currently job hunting.

Edit: you downvoters really need a life
