luckily it was the only mobile order at the time, so I just kept the drinks behind the counter and when they walked over to the mobile pickup area, I handed them the drinks nonchalantly with a straight face. didn't want to give them the satisfaction of a reaction.

when we get mobile orders like these I keep them behind the counter and when I see someone waiting I ask them innocently "oh were you waiting on a mobile order? what name was it under?" and make them tell me they placed an order under cumslut or whatever have you

I would've tossed the stickers and told them when they came to pick up their order that you can't accept orders with inappropriate names. Then give em the ole razzle dazzle and smile and say if they'd like, you can make their drinks for them now, but in the future if they continue to use the name, you'll just be tossing their order and won't be remaking them, and they can reorder once they alter the name. Or have your SV do it or something. That's super not cool of them. Trashy and rude imo.

Yeah that would've been a good idea. I just didn't want to give them any sort of reaction or special treatment at all though, they might've found the "oo we're in trouble with starbucks" situation kinda fun, like kids doing light shoplifting. Idk. I showed it to my shift and he was like "uh yeah obviously don't anounce the name and lets not set it out on the counter either" 🤷

Oh they do, but only on the register for some reason. A couple years ago a cop tried to play victim and said a barista put Pig for his drink order, only problem is that's one of the filtered words we can't type in, so he had to do it himself on mobile and got called out by his own daughter

The licence I work for in the UK won't even use SBUX tills and instead use another company and just hook in to the services, because they can't stand the way it all works and how bad SBUX is at fixing or changing things

This is kind of related. We have a regular who comes in and orders 48 drinks every 2 weeks. I always put the names in the "ask me", but for some reason it will never let me write 'gladys' it will separate some of the letters. WHY?

I tried to write the name Gypsy, since the customer said that was her name (she even spelled it out for me), but a message popped up saying that word wasn't allowed. It's funny how they don't have that with mobile orders. I guess they can say that's on the customer for picking that name. But then you have theae type of situations...

Ace too and I would have taken a sharpie to their name then told them they can’t do that when they came in. We are a family establishment and I can’t have a child reading that. It makes me uncomfortable as well but children usually make people feel guiltier.

If they make it a problem file an incident report so there’s record and you can get them banned if they continue.
